How We Got Our Fab Figures! Untitled-3-1
Hot new girlband The Saturdays share their diet and fitness secrets with us

"Cutting down on bread flattens my tummy"

Name: Vanessa White
Age: 19
Size: 8/10
Height: 5ft 1

Are you happy with your weight?
I’m around 8st and a size 8, which is fine for me – I’m only little!

Do you have any tips for shaping up quickly?
I love bread, but cutting down on it helps me to get a flatter stomach.

What’s your typical daily diet?
For breakfast I’ll have granola and yoghurt. If I’m working out, I’ll also have lots of water, fruit and smoothies to boost my energy in between meals. Lunch will be a panini, chicken salad or sandwich, and dinner is fish and vegetables with rice or mash. I’m a real pudding girl and my favourite is apple crumble with ice cream.

How do you keep your bum toned?
My trainer makes me do lots of lunges and squats. Our energetic dance routines also give my bum a good workout!

"A spray tan makes you look slimmer"

Name: Una Healy
Age: 27
Size: 8
Height: 5ft 7

What’s your ideal weight?
I’ve always weighed between 8 and 81/2st – I’m happy with my figure as long as I look toned.

Do you have any tips to shape up quickly?
I go for long power walks with a friend so we burn calories as we chat!

Describe your diet!

For breakfast I’ll have Special K, a probiotic drink and a cappuccino. I’ll have a sandwich for lunch, and for dinner I’ll have a chicken stir-fry or spaghetti Bolognese.

How do you get ready for wearing a bikini?
I do 100 sit-ups a day and have a spray tan – that always makes you look slimmer!

Which beauty products would you take to a desert island?
Kérastase shampoo and conditioner and Veet Ready To Wax Strips to keep my legs smooth.

"I eat little and often"

Name: Rochelle Wiseman
Age: 20
Size: 10
Height: 5ft 8

How would you describe your figure?
I have a womanly ’50s hourglass shape, with my 32D boobs, hips and small waist. I never weigh myself but I went up to a size 12 two years ago as I was eating out a lot!

How do you stay in shape?
I eat little and often as that speeds up your metabolism. I also drink lots of water to flush everything out.

What do you eat on a normal day?
I’ll have bran flakes for breakfast, soup and a roll for lunch and in the evening I eat out a lot at my local Italian – but I’ll choose fish instead of pizza. I’ll snack on cake, crisps or fruit and nuts if I’m being good.

What are your food vices?
Chocolate éclairs – I’m trying to cut down on them though!

"Cycling keeps my legs in shape"

Name: Mollie King
Age: 21
Size: 8
Height: 5ft 4

Are you happy with your weight and size?
I don’t weigh myself as I prefer to go on how I feel, but I’m quite happy right now as a size 8.

How do you shape up for summer?
I cut out junk food and do exercise that tones your entire body, such as swimming and cycling.

Tell us your typical daily diet
For breakfast I’ll have porridge with honey and a mocha. Lunch will be salmon, salad and rice, and for dinner I love a roast. When I’m busy I’ll snack on nuts or M&S chicken tikka pieces.

How do you keep your arms in shape?
I work out using Kettel bells (heavy weights). They’re great for getting rid of bingo wings!

"I snack on popcorn instead of chocolate"

Name: Frankie Sandford
Age: 20
Size: 8
Height: 5ft 3

What’s your ideal weight and size?
I weigh about 81/2st and I’m a size 8. I don’t want to be any skinnier – I love my food too much!

What do you eat in a normal day?
Breakfast is scrambled eggs on toast. Lunch will be a jacket potato, Caesar salad, or a stir-fry. For dinner I’ll have pasta.

How do you maintain your weight on tour?
I take bags of salted popcorn to snack on instead of chocolate.

How do you keep your thighs in shape?
I do lunges and run on the treadmill – which I hate!

Which beauty products would you take to a desert island?
The Body Shop’s Cocoa Butter Moisturiser to keep my skin soft and Veet Spray On Hair Removal Cream so I wouldn’t need to shave every day.
